Statement by Senate Appropriations Committee
Chairman Jake Corman on Governor Corbett's Budget Address

Today marks the beginning of the Commonwealth's annual appropriations process. The Governor's Budget address lays out his framework for how the Commonwealth will meet the Constitutional requirement of a balanced budget.  Beginning Tuesday, February 19th and continuing through March 6th, the Senate Appropriations Committee will hold public hearings to thoroughly review each facet of the Governor's proposal.  As Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I believe this process is crucial to crafting a fiscally responsible budget and look forward to providing detailed accounting and proper oversight of the Commonwealth's budget.  All budget information, including budget hearing schedules, live streaming videos of Senate Appropriations Committee hearings, archived testimony, as well as a copy of Governor's proposed budget can be viewed from my website at jakecorman.com.
