Corman Appointed to Senate Game and Fisheries Committee

Harrisburg – State Sen. Jake Corman (R-34) has taken on a new committee assignment for the 2013-14 legislative session, serving as a member of the Senate Game and Fisheries Committee.

The Senate Game and Fisheries Committee oversees legislation relating to hunting and fishing, as well as Pennsylvania's vast wildlife resources.

"Pennsylvania, and our region in particular, is home to generations of outdoorsmen with a rich heritage of hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation," said Corman.  "I'm excited to get to take my seat on the committee and work to ensure that this tradition continues to prosper for future generations."

The committee is chaired by Sen. Richard Alloway (R-33), representing Franklin and Adams counties.

"The committee will have an active agenda during the new legislative session focused on expanding recreational opportunities for all Pennsylvanians," said Senator Alloway. "Senator Corman's commitment to sportsmen's issues is very admirable, and I look forward to working with him to accomplish these goals over the next two years."

Senator Corman is currently the chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee. He also serves as a member of the Senate Banking and Insurance, Education, Rules and Executive Nominations, and State Government committees.
