  • Go Wild With Summer Workshops
    Educators and leaders of scouting and youth groups are invited by the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) to attend exciting wildlife education workshops during June 2008. The 3 programs are Act 48-approved for teachers and include standards-based activities to help address the Environment and Ecology Standards.   (05/12/08)

  • Apply Now For Elk Hunting License Drawing
    Hunters interested in obtaining one of the 45 elk hunting licenses for the state's November 3-8, 2008 elk season are being encouraged by the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) to complete and submit an application for the September 20 drawing.   (05/12/08)

  • Avoiding Human-Bear Conflicts
    Roughly 14,000 hungry black bears are waking up and ending their winter fast, according to the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC). As they compete for scarce spring vegetation, human sightings and interactions increase. In addition, encroachment of housing developments and businesses into bear habitat increases the likelihood of meeting a bear in your backyard.   (05/05/08)

  • Boating Safety Courses Spring Up
    Planning on doing some boating this spring? The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission (PF&BC) is reminding those interested in boating and born on or after January 1, 1982 that they are required to obtain a Boating Safety Education Certificate through an approved classroom boating course.   (04/25/08)
